Marko Micanovic has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, law, and banking. He is the founding partner in a law practice specializing in M&A, finance/banking, and distressed situations. Marko has been engaged in structuring and execution of M&A, capital raising, and restructuring deals as financial or legal advisor to local and international clients. He spent over 12 years in advisory boutiques, most notably as managing partner of Altis Capital (2005-2013). Between 2016 and 2022, Marko headed the Restructuring Workout & Collections Division at Sberbank Serbia.
Mr. Micanovic served as Commissioner of the Securities Commission of Serbia (2003-2004) and, earlier, as financial sector policy advisor in the Ministry of Finance. Marko was a member of the Board of Governors and Secretary-Treasurer of American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia and held non-executive board positions in Energoprojekt, KBM banka, Serbia & Montenegro Export Credit Agency, DDOR, and the Serbian Fulbright Alumni Association.
Marko holds an LLM from the NYU School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Belgrade. He is admitted to the bar in Serbia and in New York.
