
Ognjen Popović is the Assistant Minister of the Financial System Department at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia and President of the Supervisory Board of the Belgrade Stock Exchange. With extensive experience in banking, capital markets, NPL resolution, and payment systems, Ognjen is shaping how Serbia develops and implements modern financial policies.
💼 Before joining the Ministry, he worked as an analyst across banking, finance, legal, and management consulting in Serbia and the Middle East, giving him a unique perspective on both local and global financial trends.
His role also includes overseeing the implementation of the Capital Markets Development Strategy and the Catalyzing Long-Term Finance through Capital Markets project in partnership with the World Bank, as well as activities related to NPL resolution, including cases of banks in bankruptcy and claims on behalf of the state.
