Vasilis Theofanopoulos

Vasilis joined Pillarstone in January 2017 having 20 years of investment banking, corporate finance, CFO and board-level experience. He focuses on investing and manging in large corporate NPE in the Greek market. He has worked on over 40 corporate transactions with an aggregate transaction value in excess of 20 billion euros. In his early career, Vasilis worked as a Senior Manager with Deloitte Corporate Finance Group in Athens focusing on landmark Greek and cross-border M&A transactions, as well as, as an investment banker with JPMorgan’s EMEA Financial Sponsors Group in London advising private equity clients.
Vasilis has also served for 6 years as CFO of Iason Hellenic Shipping and as Director for Strategy, M&A and Corporate Development for Nιreus, the leading Mediterranean aquaculture group. He has served on the Boards of Oslo Bourse-listed Marine Farms ASA and the UK Hellenic Bankers Association. Vasilis has served as a Reserve Office in the Hellenic Army and holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus and an MBA with Distinction from London Business School where he studied as under the LBS Private Equity Club Scholarship.
